My laptop is titled MSI Megabook L740X-053UA so the manufacturer is obviously a Taiwan-based company MSI. However according to the sticker the product was assembled in China, which is even better. One thing remains unclear why among all the barcodes we can proudly read HOLLAND written in Latin alphabet. Perhaps during the brakes between planting their tulips the Dutch guys develop laptops. I can’t exactly say what class it belongs to but this is definitely not an ultraportable device. More likely it is a budget replacement of a desktop PC for those customers who can live well without complicated and dynamic games. The vendor positioned this piece of electronics as business-class device. Well it can be regarded as such since MS Office 2007 and other office applications work just fine but from my experience I can tell that IEEE 1394 port is rarely needed in the office. More often it is used at home to download the content of camcorder to HDD. In addition it perfectly handles interesting yet a bit outdated games like Wolfenshtein and Rise of Nation.
